Wow! Stable Loads from Torklift

I recently installed Stable Loads on my F350 and what a difference. As advertised my overload springs are in use. I found a much more stable ride and only using about 15lbs of air in the ride-rites. Its great as the airbags have fallen out of favor with me.
The set-up with the Ranchos are a great match. Its a level ride and would definately recommend them and it took less than 30 minutes to install.
PS. I don't work for Torklift; couldn't afford the cross country commute.

RE: Launching Boat w/ TC

I've launched and retrieved my boat (18" f/s) once with the camper on and its doable. I just prefer to off-load the camper prior; its just more comfortable and easier. Besides, when I am taking my boat, I'm usually at a location for 4 or more days.

RE: Fuel Rants & Raves - Post 'Em Here!

It appears our government is helping push the price of fuel up!
Read this: from CNN Money (I do believe them): "the diesel prices outpacing gasoline, refiners in the United States have been ramping up production of diesel and sending it abroad. That has displaced some domestic gasoline production, helping push gas prices higher."
I have relatives in Europe; the heck with them, let them build their own refineries.
Why doesn't the Democrats and Republicans (both share this issue).

Keeping your cool!

I was wondering about keeping the TC cool while running down the road or around town. I don't like the idea of running the generator when moving. It can get pretty hot out west.
Any thoughts or suggestions.

I've got a 2001 Ford SD 7.3 diesel.
Has anyone change computer chips to get better mileage and have you been successful?

RE: Stability off Truck

Thanks for the input.
Even with the Bigfoot all of the way down it still wobbles. I occasionally use the riser for the TC (On a Ford),and put jacks under it. However thats way too much work for this old guy.
But I'm still brainstorming the ideas.

Stability off Truck

I would like to take the TC off for getting around town. However, when its been off-loaded and I walked around inside I get a wobble or movement, what ever you want to call it. I am not comfortable with it, even though you should be able to eat, sleep and drink in them.
What can I do to stop the movement without a bunch of fancy gadgets?
Thanks

Towing a TC

I've been thinking about putting my Bigfoot on a trailer for cross-country travel when not taking the boat.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

RE: VETERANS CampingCorner

Camping? Six airmen "hunting" in the cold. Rain stated and I woke up to find that I was the only one still in a mummy sack (remember those?). Everyone we to find some other shelter. I was just fine until I rolled over. Unfortunately, that manuever created a leak, or should I say flood. Socks, feet and fatigues soaked, I fled the bag for better shelter (Plastic).

19.5 wheels vs. stock

Is there really an advantage to having the 19.5" wheels over the stock. My stock wheels and tire appear to do just fine (F350, dually).

RE: Want to switch from TC to 5er. Chapparal anyone?

The input is great and much apprciated. I've looked at some Carriges saw few things that would get me to spend that much for nothing but stuff I don't need. I will look at Jayco though. When you compare floor plans and offerings the are all pretty much the same. Its in the quality.

Want to switch from TC to 5er. Chapparal anyone?

Have been looking at Coachmen Chapparal Lite. Does anyone have any experience? There is only two of us and we are looking at the 270RKS. I have a 2001 Ford SD, Dually, with the 7.3 Diesel.

RE: San Antonio area CG??

Last year, we spent a couple days at the KOA in east San Antonio. Nice, clean and well informed. The best thing is that you can walk out of the front entrance and take a bus to and from the Riverwalk and the Alamo. I don't recall the cost, but it was cheap. I believe it only took about 20 minutes to get to your destination.
Check it out!

Homestead or Aruba or neither?

Does anyone have experience with either 5th wheel? Thinking about going from Truck Camper to Fifth Wheel but nothing longer than about 27".
